The exhibition, curated by Huib Haye van der Werf, is displayed in the halls, on the walls, under and on-top of the roofs, and within the hidden cavities of Hoog Catharijne and Utrecht Central Station. During the show Netherlands most successful shopping center will take on the identity of both a time capsule and a pressure cooker. Call of the Mall is organised in collaboration with the municipality of Utrecht.

Troika’s ‘Persistent Illusion’ was commissioned to sit in the centre of the iconic Brutalist shopping mall Hoog Catharijne. First opened in 1973, the mall's original grandeur has faded in recent years. Now, it manifests as a site where we can examine the physical, financial and sociological aspects of our changing society, simultaneously acting as a pressure cooker and a time capsule, where old ideals and new developments meet.
Artists Christian Jankowski, Wilfredo Prieto, Robbie Cornelissen, Nathan Coley, Pilvi Takala, Gabriel Lester, Melle Smets, Lily van der Stokker, John Miller, Troika, Bik Van der Pol, Sylvie Fleury, Matthew Darbyshire, Krijn de Koning, Henrik Vibskov, Ligna and many others will participate in Call of the Mall. All of them will be exhibiting new work.
