Greyworld is an artist group that creates urban art. Greyworld's installations are for the most part displayed in the ill-defined areas of the city - grey areas between functional spaces that upon closer inspection can yield valuable and memorable experiences. Commissioned by Greyworld, Troika decided to illustrate this principle through a series of posters and business cards where not all is as it seems.
Concept
Greyworld’s work seeks to short circuit social expectations supplied by the surrounding urban environment, these posters are designed to entice the viewer into having a closer look. What seems at first glance to be a grey surface is upon closer look intricate and colorful patterns – an organic element hiding as static form.
Likewise, the business cards shown are designed in the same spirit: All information is hidden behind a grey surface that scratches off – again pointing toward the hidden in everyday life.
